Redefining waste through Trashion
Thank you for joining us to celebrate Waste Reduction Week on October 17th and 18th as we refined waste through Trashion.
Trashion, a hybrid of “trash” and “fashion”, is a term coined for art, jewelry, fashion and objects created from used, thrown-out, found and repurposed elements. Tenants and visitors were presented with an inspirational and creative showcase that encouraged them to think of waste as a resource… and challenged them to find innovative ways to repurpose everyday items usually thrown away.
In addition to a live Trashion fashion show with a DJ spinning tunes, tenants took selfies with the models, learnt about the garments, talked to Michelle Sin – artist behind the garments – and were empowered to give second life to waste by repurposing everyday items.
