During Waste Reduction Week, a week long educational exhibit was held in the /SFC PATH and encouraged visitors to learn about 10 consumer goods and how they enable us to rethink waste. Participates were invited to complete a short online quiz that tested their knowledge on the environmental footprint related to consumerism, and all entries were included in a complimentary draw for some unique items on display.
Also, in support of Partners in Project Green and Diabetes Canada, /SFC joined the annual Recycling Clothing Drive, whereby all clothing and household textile items were collected by Diabetes Canada for sale at Value Villages. Funds from the sale allow Diabetes Canada to fund its mission, while reducing the number of clothes that ultimately end up in landfills.
We would like to thank all those who stopped by the view the exhibit and to those who participated in the Clothing Drive. The /SFC community was able to divert 338 kg of clothing for reuse!
